獅子座流星雨
source: answers.com
The annual Leonid meteor shower will be lighting up the sky today, as is the case each year in November. With a nearly full moon, only the brightest Leonids are expected to visible across the US. Most meteor showers are made up of the icy, dusty debris shed by comets as they orbit the Sun. A meteor shower takes place when Earth travels through the stream of debris. The meteors appear to fall from a specific place in the sky, as a result of where Earth and the stream meet ― the meteor shower receives its name from the radiant: the constellation the meteors appear to fall from. The Leonid meteor shower's radiant is located in the constellation Leo.
